Millis Transfer, Inc. ("Millis") as we know it today originally started after prohibition with Jake and Ray Millis acquiring the Old Style Distributorship in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Beer for the wholesale business was hauled from La Crosse, Wisconsin, as well as freight of all kinds to and from La Crosse.

Millis has grown from 20 tractors and 40 trailers in 1982 to over 550 tractors, 2000 trailers and 100 plus Owner Operators. Millis is proud of the fact they were able to show considerable growth, and at the same time have a strong operating ratio. This proves growth has not had an adverse effect on efficiency.

Millis realizes that although the company is made up of a team, it's the driver who is ultimately responsible for the successful shipper-carrier relationship. The equipment is inspected to provide the drivers with as many comforts as there are available.

Millis' operation is run from a central location in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. In addition, we have maintenance facilities in Black River Falls, Wisconsin; Richfield, Wisconsin; Weedsport, New York; Cartersville, Georgia; and Trenton, Ohio. We also have drop yards in Ridgeway, VA, Albany, Georgia; Milwaukee, WI; and St Louis Mo.

Millis also operates its own driver training centers know as MTI (Millis Training Institute) in Cartersville, Ga.; Richfield, WI and Trenton, Oh. To support the operation the business is completely computerized from Customer Service to Dispatch to Payroll and Billing, along with complete satellite communications with all equipment and drivers.

Trainers welcome, needed, wanted!

Trainer pay: All miles the truck runs at trainer's regular mile rate plus:
.07 cpm for 1st student
.08 cpm for 2nd student
.09 cpm for 3rd student
.10 cpm for 4th student and up
plus: $100 bonus when student achieves cdl
plus: $100 bonus when student graduates into own truck

3 weeks of classroom, low cost, lodging included.
Positions available to graduates.
OTR trainee pay while with Driver Trainer:
1st week $500
2nd week $500
3rd week $550
4th week $600
5th week $650
6th+ week $700
When the student gets into their own truck they start at a base pay of .32
cpm plus all applicable bonuses.


GREAT BONUSES:
Mileage Bonus (based on weekly miles):
2,000-2,499=.03 cpm
2,500-2,999=.04 cpm
3,000+= .05 cpm

Safety Bonus:
1st year=.03 per paid mile
2nd, 3rd and 4th year=.035 per paid mile
5th + year=.04 per paid mile
Paid as follows:
1st year=.02 per mile per quarter/ .01 per mile at year end
2nd, 3rd and 4th year= .0225 per mile per quarter/ .0125 per mile at year end
5th + year=.025 per mile per quarter/ .015 per mile at year end
